Environmental Scientist

The successful candidate will work on a variety of interesting site investigation and remediation projects at industrial projects sites. This is a great opportunity to work with ISOTEC’s technical experts to implement the latest investigation and remediation technologies. This position requires 25-50% travel throughout the US and abroad.

ISOTEC offers a competitive salary & benefits package including, paid holidays and vacation time with a salary increase after a successful probationary period. A company matched 401k plan is available after the first year. We also provide OSHA training with annual refresher trainings and a company paid annual physical which includes a drug and alcohol screening.

Environmental Scientist Duties and Responsibilities may include:

  • Assist with projects involving site investigation and remediation of contaminated sites for clients with technical/regulatory issues.
  • Generate figures and perform analysis (soil sample location maps, ground water and contaminant contour maps).
  • Assist with preparation of reports presenting the results of the investigations. Support work includes preparation of tables, figures, and writing draft narratives summarizing field activities and findings for Project Manager Review.
  • Field work will include collection of soil, groundwater, soil vapor, indoor air, surface water, and/or sediment samples.  Field work will also include general oversight of field activities related to drilling, well installation, health and safety, subcontractor management, and implementation of remedial measures including pilot studies, system construction, injection programs, and excavation.
  • Build strong collaborative relationships with other ISOTEC employees, clients and subcontractors.
  • Willingness to travel to sites that require overnight stay for periods of 1-2 weeks at a time, or more, as needed to support field work at sites outside of our immediate vicinity.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors or Master’s Degree in engineering, geology, environmental science, or related discipline.
  • Effective written/verbal communication and organization/analytical skills.
  • Previous environmental field work experience and 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification is preferred, but not required.
  • Strong commitment to safety, including following established Health and Safety protocols.
  • Valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
  • Ability to multi-task, maintain flexibility, travel, and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Local candidates preferred, or willingness to relocate.

 

Field Technician

ISOTEC is currently seeking a self-motivated, detail-oriented, quick learning Environmental Field Technician for our Lawrenceville, NJ office. ISOTEC is a growing environmental remediation firm specializing in the treatment of contaminated soil and groundwater. This position requires 50-60% travel throughout the US and abroad. An environmental background is preferred, but not required.

Field Technician Duties and Responsibilities may include:

  • Chemical and equipment preparation.
  • Perform supervised chemical injection activities.
  • Performing general labor and construction duties as required.
  • Work on various job sites as assigned, working effectively both individually and within a team environment.
  • Collect readings and samples, including groundwater and soil samples.
  • Identify problems on work site and take steps to resolve them directly if applicable.
  • Adhere to and promote all health and safety policies, including all safety protocols.
  • Follow all Company Standard Operating Procedures for field work.
  • Keep job sites neat, clean and free of debris.
  • Interface with customers periodically.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
  • Valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
  • General construction experience preferred, but not required.
  • Willingness and flexibility to work on diverse project tasks on different job sites.
  • Excellent work ethic, communication skills and team-player attitude.
  • Strong attention to detail, with proven ability to follow specific instructions.
  • TWIC Card preferred, but not required.
  • 40 Hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification preferred, but not required.
